
The Lebanese Rugby League Federation have launched their official playing jersey and announced their sponsors for the 2017 Rugby League World Cup tournament.
The jersey and playing strip was launched at Zahli Restaurant, Sydney by Assistant Coach Luke Burt along with members of the Cedars 40-man train-on squad Robbie Farah (South Sydney Rabbitohs), Tim Mannah (Parramatta Eels) and Michael Lichaa (Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs) earlier this week.
Remond Safi, Chief Executive Officer of the Lebanese Rugby League Federation said “It’s a very exciting time for the Cedars and the Lebanese Rugby League Federation as we approach the Rugby League World Cup 2017 tournament. We’ve got a very strong squad made up of players from around the world, including our own domestic players from our local championships.
“We are all very proud of our jersey and the role that we have in the rugby league community. We know the positive social impact that rugby league has had in Lebanon and can continue to have on its participants to contribute to Lebanon’s civil society.
“Our fans and supporters are some of the most passionate in the rugby league community. They will support us from around the world in the 2017 tournament. We’re especially excited to be meeting our supporters in Australia.
“The Rugby League World Cup presents a spectacular platform to demonstrate the wonderful synergy between the Lebanese rugby league community in Lebanon and the Australian diaspora, which have worked together, alongside the Australian and Lebanese governments, to promote both Lebanon and rugby league in these two countries.

Lebanon has been drawn in Pool A of the tournament and will play France (29 October 2017, Canberra Stadium), England (5 November 2017, Sydney Football Stadium) and Australia (11 November 2017, Sydney Football Stadium). Tickets to all games are available now at www.rlwc2017.com
