The Cedars have received another boost following a sponsorship deal with Holdmark, an Australian based business. The Lebanese Rugby League Federation is building partnerships with like-minded organisations to provide the Cedars with financial support when they take the field this October in the 2017 Rugby League World Cup.
Following a 17-year absence from the tournament, the Cedars have been drafted into ‘Pool A’ alongside giants Australia, England, and France. The Cedars will begin preparations with a warm-up against Niue in Sydney, with Head Coach Brad Fittler taking the reins for his first international with Lebanon.
Holdmark is a proud supporter of Lebanese Rugby League. The partnership is a natural fit for both organisations, sharing a commitment to challenges, hard work and determination.
“The support we have been receiving from the Lebanese community globally has been outstanding, and we look forward to the Rugby League World Cup and the challenge ahead.,” said Mohamed Habbous, LRLF President.
The Lebanese rugby league team is a celebration of Australia’s multiculturalism. Young Australian men of Lebanese descent playing Rugby League on the world stage. With many Lebanese calling Australia home, this is sure to be an exciting event.
