The board is committed to introduce changes in its constitution to be in line with the international federation’s changes, the requirements of the Lebanese Ministry of Sports, but also and importantly, after a consultation process with all the officially affiliated clubs. Our aim is to have stable bylaws and ensure that all stakeholders adhere to and become accountable to them. Our goal is to have these changes by the end of May 2019 at the latest.
Board member Jad Abi Nassif said “The momentum of the board is really pleasing, with all directors and the current staff showing a lot of energy and teamwork to implement our change agenda. The legal, strategic and structural work is fundamental to the LRLF and its stakeholders being as well positioned as we all can be to move forward as quickly as we intend to.”
In its latest meeting, on Tuesday evening in Beirut, the six-strong board also discussed Lebanon’s international calendar, ongoing discussions with local stakeholders, discussed candidates for the vacant CEO position ahead of the 22 March application deadline and set up a working group to review the LRLF judiciary.
