The Battle of The Wolves
Lebanon Rugby League: 2021 Grand Final will feature the Wolves RLFC vs. Grey Wolves RLFC (aka: Lycans) face-off for the first time in a National Championship Final. The match fixture will kick off at 8:45pm today , at Nejmeh Field in Beirut.
Last time these two sides met, in Round 2 of the season’s Premiership, the Wolves won 18–1 thanks to an outstanding performance from their half-back, Jad El Hachem. Neither side have won the National Title before, so both will be hungry to raise the silverware and etch their names into the pages of Lebanese Rugby League history.
Wolves Player-Manager, Ziad Agha commented, “The team is all looking forward to the LRL Grand Final on Thursday. It’s been a tough season this year, coming back from a year’s drought and with everything going on in the country. So far we’ve managed to win all our games making it to the final, we hope to keep the momentum going with one last win for gold, unlike last time when we made it all the way but fell short in the final. Most of all we are just happy that the sport we all love is back, and hopefully will get stronger in preparation for the RLWC 2022.”
“The boys have been waiting for this game for a very long time. We are ready and we are playing to bring the cup back home.” Khalil Azar: Grey Wolves Manager.
Lebanese-American Referee, Nadeem Moughnieh, will Officiate the Grand Final, assisted by Yasser Helou & Yehya Mattar as Touch-Judges, and Mia Kesserwani as the Fourth Official.
